Butterflies

Gadi’s butterflies in stone and bronze refer to the symbol of freedom. “A butterfly floats. It goes to whichever flower it wants, whenever it wants. With that, there’s a sense of shaking off of all conventions, human expectations and of fitting into molds.” Moreover, for Gadi this winged creature represents something ethereal: an angel, a fairy. “I think in some way every person wishes a guardian angel could accompany them. So I create these butterflies that live with me. It gives me a sensation of flight, movement. It creates freedom.”
