AboutThe Artwork

“A violin has the most human sound that I know,” says Gadi. He comes back to the theme of violins again and again and in this sculpture he depicts sound as a matter that spills and melts downward. A tall body representing voice and a high note of the throat, with bellowing lower sounds visible as two shapes resembling lips on the waist of the musical instrument. And as with sound, which allows other things to coexist with it, the clear onyx lets the light shine through.
