Gadi visually reflects on the theme of birth as a parallel to the formation of matter. The shape is reminiscent of a seed forming into a plant and the process of birth, whilst at the same time, the formulation of matter is visible through the colored strata of the stone. “Stone is matter that accumulated into a singular mass,” he informs us. This Nubian sandstone that Gadi collected from the rivers of the desert himself is in itself matter that was born,  from years and years of heat, water and matter working together.
