In 2018, Gadi Fraiman unveiled his Solar System sculpture in Kiryat Motzkin city hall. The city of Kiryat Motzkin reopened their municipality building in 2017 after a big renovation, at which time they decided to also introduce a brand new fine art sculpture in the town square. Referring to the new logo of the municipality, which features a colorful solar system, Gadi created a large three-dimensional stainless steel structure exploring this theme.
“The solar system fascinates me. It isn’t to be taken for granted that there is a star, and sun, and life! For me, it isn’t at all obvious.” In his sculpture, the solar system, usually a grand and thus imperceivable concept, becomes visible before our very eyes. Its relation to the viewer’s body, too, allows him to experience the solar system in a visceral way. Gadi allowed his creativity to flourish in the connecting structures between the stars, where flowing lines dance and hold the distances between the stars.
